Annual General Meeting – Wed 7th July 2004
Apologies: Darren Ward, Andy Parkinson, Steve Brown, Robin Ringham and Russell Lovatt.
Dave Wright reported a record year for teams and a successful one with all teams completing the season.
Both U10s and U15s achieving Championships and U11s Cup Finalists. The Club remains on course for Charter Standard but we must endeavor to accomplish this goal for the sake of all Managers/Coaches who have passed the Level 1 Certificate. It was noticeable that more individuals from the Club are actively involved; Ken and Steve Hudson for their fund raising at the Gala, Steve again for his efforts in arranging the raffle at the Prize Giving with an overall profit of £117, Steve Charlesworth for his Mini Soccer Tournament at the Gala and Steve Brown for his continued efforts in achieving Charter Standard to name but a few.
Hopefully the maintenance activities will prove a success. This years Presentation Evening was agreed by all to be one of the best yet, with its new format and timings enjoyed by most.
Dave finished by asking everyone to "remember the big picture", the Club not their own individual interests or age groups.
Barbara issued a set of accounts; the Club remains stable with funds to cover running costs for the next three months and the first half yearly rental on pitches.
Barbara wished to thank all age groups for their prompt monthly returns and congratulated Dave Wright on the running of the Tea Bar account with the returns enabling the Club to sustain its current healthy position.
Dave Wright noted an apparent loss of £800 on the year, this was confirmed by Barbara as the amount incurred to provide Level 1 training and envisaged this to drop sharply for the following year.
All age groups are reminded to return ticket money for the Presentation Evening; this will be reviewed at the next Club meeting.
Chairman – Decision referred to next meeting. Nominations to Dave Wright.
Secretary – No nominations, Dave Wright to continue.
Treasurer – No nominations, Barbara to continue but expressed the need for a nominated person to take over next term enabling a good hand over period – nominations to Committee please.
Match Controller – No nominations, Jed is to continue for new term. The possibility of Sunday 11 a side will need to be addressed as to a workable format.
Child Protection Officer – Jez Whittle is to continue (new Tel No 8451634). He is to be aided by the addition of an assistant:- Assistant Child Protection Officer – Amanda Cooper.
The Chairman wished to make the point that to ensure continuity of interest within the Club all concerned
were advised to consider taking up posts in the future or the Club may dwindle and die. Nominations for a new Chairperson for this season and Treasurer for season 2005/06 are requested.
Format remains the same with all members of the Club welcome. It is important that efforts are made by Managers / Age group representatives to attend monthly meetings – it remains the sole responsibility of the individual age groups to acquaint themselves with the activities of the Club and it’s Committee.
